  • 25th June 1903 - George Orwell was born by the name Eric Arthur Blair in India.
  • 1912 - Orwell was only a year old his mother moved back to England while his father stayed in India until 1912.
  • 1911 - Orwell went to St Cyprian's School in Eastbourne.
  • 1921 - Orwell joined the British police in Burma.
  • 1928 - Orwell journeyed to Paris.
  • 1932-1933 - Orwell worked as a teacher in a small private school.
  • 1934 - Orwell got a part-time job in a second-hand bookshop.
  • 1933 - Orwell's first book was published.
  • 1934 - Orwell's first novel 'Burmese Days' was published.
  • 1935 - Orwell had another novel published, it was called 'A Clergyman's Daughter'.
  • 1936 - Orwell's book was followed by 'Keep the Aspidistra Flying'.
  • George Orwell wrote a book about poverty in northern      England.
  • Orwell had married Eileen.
  • Orwell left to fight in the Spanish Civil War.
  • 1937 - 'The Road to Wigan Pier' was published.
  • 1938 - Orwell published 'A Homage to Catalonia'.
